We completely remodeled the property on Indianola Avenue before putting it up for sale. The property ended up in a 3-way bidding war and the final sales price was well above the original asking price.
The remodeling included completely gutting the kitchen and bathrooms. We even tore down an old chimney running through the center of the house which gave us more room in the kitchen and upstairs bathroom. The main stack and most of the plumbing was replaced. We sealed up the fireplace and built out columns to separate the living room from the tiled entry. We reused or located period-correct pieces for this 1912 house.
Here are some of the other changes we made:
- Newly refinished 4.5 ft claw foot tub
- New toilets
- New bathroom cabinets and sinks
- New tile in bathroom
- New tile in kitchen, entry and downstairs bathroom
- Some new walls and ceilings
- Relocated door to the kitchen
- New kitchen cabinets
- New lights throughout
- New front door
- Recycled, period-correct doors in kitchen and baths
- New attic windows
- New insulation in attic
- New outlets, switches and plates
- New hardwood flooring in living area
- New carpet in bedrooms
